Description

Principle of the Assay: The Mouse CD201 ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of Mouse CD201 in Cell Culture Supernates, Serum, Plasma. This assay employs an antibody specific for Mouse CD201 coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and CD201 present in a sample is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-Mouse CD201 antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is pipetted to the wells. The wells are again washed, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of CD201 bound. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm.

Background: Endothelial protein C receptor (EPCR), also known as CCCA or PROCR, is a protein that in humans is encoded by the PROCR gene. PRPCR gene is mapped to 20q11.2 by radiation hybrid analysis and FISH. The protein encoded by this gene is a receptor for activated protein C, a serine protease activated by and involved in the blood coagulation pathway. The encoded protein is an N-glycosylated type I membrane protein that enhances the activation of protein C. Mutations in this gene have been associated with venous thromboembolism and myocardial infarction, as well as with late fetal loss during pregnancy
